Final Submission:I tried to make the sky red and have apocalyptic looking, but decided against it since I couldn’t find balance.

Final Submission:I tried to create the sky red and have apocalyptic looking, but change it since there was no balance in the scene and it didn’t work.

I had great time working on this challenge. This is the biggest project I worked on so far and I learned a lot from this challenge. Didn’t realize how crucial the blockout stage is. I’ve seen some beautiful works and ideas and would love to see some of these scenes completely textured.
Thank you Emiel for making this possible and to everyone who participated in this challenge.

WIP update:Last week my main focus was completing the museum and start working on details on other buildings. The museum is complete, some minor fixes/adjustment might needed. Windows have been added to half of the buildings in the scene. Once that’s finished, I will start adding pipes to the buildings, work on the props in the scene and fix the ground/street. I will try to expend the environment a little bit and add buildings behind the museum, but that’s not a priority, since not much time is left.
For the next update, I will export the project in Unreal Engine and start working on the lighting.- August 2, 2022 at 2:16 am

Looks Great! This scene gives me the vibes I get while playing stealth games. The water reflection will be great asset if you decide to make the scene dark.Love the cages beneath the bridge. Can’t wait to see the final version 🙂

WIP Update:This update was supposed to come earlier, but I couldn’t post it since I was busy moving out and didn’t have access to internet on my PC. At the moment, the progress is a little bit advanced than in the screenshots below. I will post by the end of the week the latest updates.
I worked mostly on defining the environment, getting the right measures and adding some details to the museum.
Reference for the main variation of lightning/sky I’m going for:

Thank you. These pictures shows many details that are hard to find on the internet. Not sure how detailed it can be for this challenge, but I’ll work on the details anyway later.Appreciate the help 😀

Steven_Primrose: this is looking great, I know you had reservations and put this scene off due to complexity, but you’re nailing it so far; great work
Thank you! Yes, I wasn’t able to find any reference for the environment around the Museum, but then I found multiple street views on google so I continued working on it. Appreciate your kind words Steven 🙂

AndyBegg: Nice!
Make sure you include the Jolly Judge so I can go for a wee dram.
Thank you! I had to google it to find out where is the Jolly Judge. I’m afraid it’s out of the area I’m creating. But I assume you visited that area/live in Edinburgh (your lucky). Would love to know your thought’s once it’s done 🙂

Thank you! I fell in love with this Museum. Found 360 degree street view of the location and the environment over there is gorgeous.- July 21, 2022 at 9:11 pm

Hey guys, been working on the project and I found better reference of the environment around the Museum. I’ve decided to go with it and make it real-life.Now that the measures are right, I’ll start working on details. Once modeling is complete, I will create a variation of lightning/atmosphere and play with it a bit. One of the variations I’ve been thinking about is apocalyptic and probably will go with it in the end.
